Money Exchange Rates
US Dollars are the de-facto currency of the country and visitors can pay anywhere in Dollars. However, you should change large bills at banks, hotels or exchange places.
Many places will not have small change for small purchases. Almost all other currencies can be exchanged in the larger cities. The Thai Baht can be used in places near the Thai border. Exchange rates do fluctuate and those given below are only a guideline.

1 Thai Baht (THB) = 100 Riels
1 Pound (GBP) = 6,644 Riels
1 Euro (EUR) = 4,897 Riels
100 Japanese Yen (JPY) = 3,703 Riels
1 Hong Kong $ (HKD) = 510 Riels
1 Australia $ (AUD) = 2,863 Riels
1 Canada $ (CAN) = 2,902 Riels
